What is career Counseling?
Career counseling can help you make satisfying decisions about your education and future career. The goal of career counseling is to assist students in finding a good fit between who they are as people and their occupational pursuits. The focus is to assist students in identifying their personality traits, interests, strengths, values and skills as they relate to making decisions about academic majors and career paths.
Career counseling can help you get started with your career planning, which is often said to be a four stage process.
The Career Exploration Center specializes in helping NMSU students with the first three stages, while Career Services focuses on fostering strategic job search skills.
